Training is one of the best ways to acquire knowledge, supplement one's formal education, improve skills and enhance professional qualifications. In recent years, member of research staff of the Institute of Plant Protection – the National Research Institute have conducted over 400 training courses, practical classes, and workshops on a variety of crop protection topics. These were targeted mainly at agricultural advisors, farmers, plant health and seed inspectors, phytopharmaceutical company staff, as well as students of natural science universities and schools of agriculture. Classes are conducted by the Institute's research staff, who are top-notch experts in a variety of fields ranging from phytopathology to entomology, herbology, diagnostics to pest monitoring to quality testing and pesticide residues. The training has focused mainly on the practical application of integrated pest management intended to ensure a high-level of protection of human and animal health and the environment. This advanced approach to plant protection relies on the use of environmentally safe methods while reducing the use of chemical plant protection products.

The Institute of Plant Protection – NRI is licensed to offer training on the use of plant protection products and integrated plant production, which is of particular importance to persons seeking to acquire credentials in this field.
Since 2000, the Institute has offered a postgraduate program of studies in integrated production, focused on plant protection and organic farming. The programs fifteen editions run to date have churned out nearly 450 graduates. The program covers a wide range of topics related to fruits, vegetables and other crops cultivated by the principles of integrated plant management (IPM). Courses for integrated plant production instructors are held in pursuance with Annex 1 to the Regulation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of May 8, 2013 on plant protection product training (Journal of Laws of 2013, item 554). Over 220 hours of substantive classes included in the program are devoted to relevant legislation, methods of protecting the plants used in IPM, crop planning, plantation establishment, agricultural technology, fertilization, pest control, crop harvesting and storage and cultivation economics, to name a few.
